House of Willis Catalog

House of Willis Publishing is the nonfiction imprint of D. X. Varos, Ltd., dedicated to royalty, genealogy and biography.

The catalog has two main groups: royal titles, such as annual guides to the royal families of Europe and lines of succession, and genealogies, including guides to finding royal ancestors and family histories. Each book is written by Daniel A. Willis, the founder of the press.

Edward IIi Vol 1

Daniel A. Willis

The Holy Grail of genealogy: Descent from a King For most genealogists researching families of British/Irish descent, the modern age of the internet has made it reasonably simple to trace one’s ancestors to the American Colonial period, 1600–1780. But the real challenge has been making that jump from 1600 back to a line that will lead to royalty. This 2-volume set of book aims to assist with just that. Nearly every person living the 21st century who has English, Irish, Scots, or Welsh ancestry is very likely descended from King Edward III (1312–1377). But finding the line that gets you there is the trick! Herein are listed all the known descendants of Edward III for 12 generations. Now all you have to do is trace your family back to roughly 1650 and see where they connect. THIS TITLE IS NOT AVAILABLE IN EBOOK FORMAT

About the author. Daniel A. Willis is a royal genealogist and biographer. His previous works have included Habsburgs in the 21st Century and The Romanoffs 100 Years Later. He is also the editor of the annually updated Reporter’s Guide to the Royal Families of Europe.

Available in paperback, Kindle, Nook, Kobo and Apple formats.

Habsburgs in the 21st Century

Daniel A. Willis ISBN 978-1-1546543-50-3

At the height of their power, the Habsburg family ruled nearly two-thirds of the European continent, but their reign came to end nearly a century ago. Although they are not reigning any longer, there are over a hundred people living today entitled to call themselves Archduke of Austria. What has become of them? The current living family members are all descended from Empress Maria Theresia. The 300th anniversary of her birth is being marked in 2017. This seems like an opportune time to catch up with them, just to see what these former royals are up to in a world that relegates their family to the past. Most of them are ordinary working people, doing what they can to get through life just like the rest of us. Yet, a few continue to make history in their own way.

Legends, Half-truths, and Cherished Myths of the Drane Family

Daniel A. Willis

So you think you know ths story of the Drane family in the United States? Guess again! Anyone who has researched the Drane/Drain family in the United States has probably been told some version of the story of Sir James Anthony Drane, a cousin of Lord Baltimore, who sent his several sons to the new colony of Maryland on the ships the Ark and the Dove. It is a noble story of our august forebears who formed a new nation (with a little from the likes of Washington, Jefferson, Franklin, etc.). Such a pity none of it is true. This book is the result of 25 years of research by one Drane descendant who attempts to set the record straight and connect all of the lines into one large family story.

The 2022 Complete Line of Succession

Daniel A. Willis

What is it about the royals? Why are millions around the world fascinated by them? Royalty, and especially the British royal family, has always had a mystique about them that has captured the imagination of the masses. One facet of this is discovering who is and who is not in the line to the Throne. Many a genealogist has pined for that royal connection that they believe gives them some remote claim. But, alas, the succession is defined by law and has a finite, albeit large, number of members. These pages will explain the evolution of the British succession and details of the laws that govern it, as well as attempt to record the entire list…all 2200+ of them! This title is available in paperback and Kindle versions only

The Romanoffs 100 Years Later

Daniel A. Willis ISBN 978-1-941072-43-1

No royal family has captured the imagination or inspired dreams dripping in diamonds like the Imperial House of Russia, the Romanoffs. For most, their story ended in that damp and musty cellar in Ekaterinburg in July 1918. But that was only the end of one chapter. While the Bolsheviks did their level best to rid the world of the Romanoff name, they failed. There were survivors, and those hearty souls continued the family. Now, a century after the murders, it is an appropriate time to reflect on how the family has lived in exile, yet maintained their heritage. THIS TITLE IS NOT AVAILABLE IN EBOOK FORMAT
