DX Varos publishes through three imprints, each with its own focus and its own submission guidelines.

DX Varos Publishing

Our flagship imprint publishes fiction: mystery and suspense, historical fiction, fantasy, science fiction and contemporary novels. We take on only a few new authors each year and edit every book fully. Browse the catalog.

House of Willis Publishing

This is an imprint of D. X. Varos, Ltd. for nonfiction royalty, genealogy and biography books. It publishes reference volumes such as guides to the royal families of Europe and lines of succession, and helps families print their own genealogies. See the imprint page and the Willis catalog.

Thursday Night Press

This is an imprint of DX Varos Publishing dedicated to promoting local Colorado authors. If you are a Colorado author and would like to have your book considered for publication, follow the submission guidelines for DX Varos, but make it clear in your query that you are in Colorado. We then consider whether your book is more appropriate for the DX Varos or the Thursday Night imprint. See the imprint page.

Choosing the right imprint

If you write a novel, start with DX Varos. If your manuscript is a factual work about a royal family, a genealogy or a life story, send it to House of Willis. If you live in Colorado and your book has a local flavor, mention it; we will read it with both imprints in mind. Read the submission guidelines before you write to us.

What all three imprints share

Every imprint follows the same principles. Authors pay nothing to be published. Each book is edited, designed and produced by the press, and distributed in print and as an e-book. Authors are asked to take part in promotion, and the press invests in wholesale marketing, review outreach and social media. You can read the details on the expectations page.
